Welcome

Hello, friends and family!

As you are probably well aware, the fourth week of the semester is coming to a close, and it has been ridiculous.  There is a lot going on, and it seems as though it won't stop until well into January. I will post as frequently as possible to keep everyone posted on my latest and greatest happenings.

Currently (Okay...currently as in present day, not right this minute) I am rehearsing for Robber Bridegroom. I am choreographing and also playing the female lead: Rosamund. Buy your tickets now! The show opens two weeks from tomorrow. (I think...right, mom?!) PS. For tickets call: Tecumseh Civic Auditorium. (517) 423-6617. Three shows only. Don't miss it. I have some pretty decent songs!

Sunday I will be auditioning for two shows: Obsession & White Christmas. Details to follow post-auditions. Prayers welcomed ;)

Then in October I will be a part of holding auditions at the Croswell for the all-area high school production of THE WIZ! Tell all of your high school aged friends & family members to come out and audition. I will be choreographing that. (Director: Chris Sancho; Music Director: Michael Yuen)

(Are you beginning to stop breathing listening (well, reading, I suppose) to this already?)

I am also starting Kappa Delta Pi at Adrian College. (We will be the Lambda Upsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi).  I will be the President. Well, technically, already am..Professor Michelle Hiscock and I are working on recruiting members and going through lots of exciting paperwork with National and the College to begin the chapter.  I will be representing the Adrian College Teacher Education Department at the Kappa Delta Pi National Conference. That is November 3-5. WISHMELUCK.

(Do I have time for all of that..OF COURSE! Hello, people. There are 24 hours in a day. Do you know this? Why waste time sleeping? When I'm dead I'll sleep a lot to make up for the lack of sleep now! Only live once right??)

Along with taking classes (I know, Dad, aren't you proud I still have time for them?! I even attend most of them!) I am assisting the Adrian Public Schools Reading Intervention Specialist (She is my TED advisors [Mary Betzoldt] daughter!) on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Beginning possibly at the end of this month I will begin teaching technology classes at the junior high. In my own classroom. 8-3. Like a real teacher. No supervising teacher. Again, I say, WISHMELUCK! This will only be ONE FRIDAY EACH MONTH.. (Thank GOD!)

(I know this is a lot. Still breathing? GOOD! Just checking!)

Classes I am taking: Literacy in the Content Area; Survey of Mass Communication; Mass Communication Theory; Weather and Climate (surprisingly more difficult than you would expect); Geography; Instructional Technology.

Surprisingly I still have a bit of a social life. Usually only if my friends are willing to hang out from 10pm-1am, before I sleep for a bit!

Adrian College News:
-They have started a Women's Club Hockey Team. That makes 5 hockey teams on campus. 6 ice sports (don't forget about synchro!)
-We now have a GORGEOUS terrace outside of Caine Student Center.  Worth visiting the website to see a picture. It's complete with a  fire pit, flat screen TVs, benches, beautiful chairs (Yes, this is all OUTDOORS) See: TERRACE PICTURE

(Really, don't just scroll past the link. Click it.)

(Did you? If not, do it. If you did, gorgeous, eh?!)

I sincerely commend anyone who is really still reading and hasn't actually skipped to the bottom. You rock. And you are also possibly either feeling:
1. Very exhausted and out of breath, like you have just run a marathon from thinking of what I am doing
2. Bored out of your mind, because you don't actually care, you just have kept reading because you are avoiding doing something productive
or 3. Totally impressed with my mad skills, which include time management, balance and awesomeness.

(*SIGH* I actually think I get more tired telling you all about what I spend my time doing, than actually running around and doing it. Now I bet you are no longer wondering how I have lost 12 lbs and continue to lose, huh?! Chrystie, you think being a mom of 4 is hard? Trade for a day? Just kidding..I just pick on you because I know you will take it the best :D)

Congratulations! You have successfully made it to the end of my first post on the Brittanie's Happenings Blog! Sorry, no gold star, BOGO, or prize. However, you can breathe easy knowing that you are truly a caring and loving person for making it through this.

More, soon!

PS. I realize I am terrible with communication. I usually have my phone on me..But I rarely am using it (SHOCKING! I KNOW!) But, I will answer if you call. I have honestly gotten really bad at responding to texting, which I apologize for. It just makes it difficult because I am usually in class, driving, teaching, rehearsing or MOSTLY doing homework. Homework is usually what I am doing if not in class or rehearsing. So if you would like to converse for a bit, you have my number. I am terrible with texting, as mentioned. And even worse with e-mail. So pick up the phone, dial my number, and we can chat for a bit.

Off to work on homework, visit with MOM! [Yes, MY MOM IS COMING TO SEE ME! (Not really, she is actually coming to see Jere...but she gets to see me too...Note: like how I make it sound like a privilege that she "gets" to see me? I am really the privileged one! Love you, mom!!)]Then attend rehearsal for three hours. Hang with friends and maybe go to bed before it's tomorrow! What a thought?! Maybe that'll be my goal today. Get in bed before it's tomorrow! Hmm! I'll let you know how that works out ;)

Be kind to one another.
